Institutional Mini-Grants

February 22, 2019

Institutional members may apply for mini-grants to support activities that further the mission of their program and SEWSA. Special consideration will be given to events with speakers/scholars from the region.

Awards up to $500 per grant will be made. Only two grants per year will be awarded.  

Award-winning events will be featured on the SEWSA website. SEWSA is to be credited as a sponsor of the event. A statement that acknowledges that the Southeastern Women’s Studies Association (SEWSA) has sponsored or co-sponsored the event should appear on all promotional material.

The application will consist of the following:

  • Formal request to Dr. Phyllis Thompson, SEWSA President

  • One-page description of the event stating needs for funding and how SEWSA will be acknowledged

When an institution is awarded a grant, SEWSA’s archives should receive a copy of relevant publicity as should the Director of Communications & Marketing, Ashley McFarland at, which will be posted SEWSA’s website.

Applications are due by February 1, 2021. Applications should be submitted via email to Dr. Phyllis Thompson, President, at Recipients will be notified on March 1, 2020.
